I have always had a passion for the arts and studied Fine Art Painting and Printmaking at Southend College of Art [EARAC]. I then went on to study Illustration at Brighton College of Art, where I received a BA (Hons). Since then and for the past 25 years, I have been employed as a Visual Designer in the commercial creative industry working with some of London’s top agencies.
As an artist, I’m interested in portraying the local environment, using an extensive range of materials and techniques in both plein air and working within the studio. I seek a personal interpretation rather than focusing on direct replication.
My career as a designer has led me to develop a passion for clean, functional design and it’s this innate interest in functionalism that I aim to pursue through aesthetical decision and mark making and the application and process of painting and drawing.
